Erin Shinn Law

Firm

Central Texas Criminal Defense

Attorney Erin Shinn fights for the rights of citizens accused of crimes in Austin and the surrounding areas of Central Texas.  If you have been arrested and charged with a crime, you need an experienced attorney to handle your case.  Criminal charges can affect you for the rest of your life, from what kind of job you have to where you can live and your ability to drive.  The Law Office of Erin Shinn takes all criminal allegations seriously, whether public intoxication or aggravated assault.

Areas of Practice

DWI

It is not illegal in Texas to have a drink and then drive, only to drive while intoxicated. You should never drive drunk. However, you can be arrested for DWI in Texas with very little evidence of intoxication. If you find yourself being investigated for DWI, understand that the police are recording the encounter on camera. Do not participate in their investigation but politely refuse to do so. You should also never submit to a breath or blood test unless you have had absolutely nothing to drink and have consumed no drugs. If you have been accused of Driving While Intoxicated or DWI, there are both criminal and civil consequences to face. The government will try to take away your driver license and you only have 15 days from the date of your arrest to fight it.

Family Violence & Violence Related

Family violence charges are stressful and a conviction can affect you forever. If you are accused of a family violence related offense, do not make any contact with the person involved in the charge and call The Law Office of Erin Shinn to defend the charges immediately. Once a family violence finding is entered against you, you are at future risk for felony charges and cannot own a firearm. You need legal representation to avoid the damage a family violence conviction can do and defend against the charges.
